Platform Methodology — What Outputs Represent
All analysis, alignment scores, and rankings produced by the CivAlign Platform are derived from:
- User-defined priority weight inputs provided by individual users
- Publicly available legislative and governmental records
No editorial judgment is applied by CivAlign in assigning or interpreting alignment scores. Two users with different priority configurations will receive different alignment outputs from identical underlying data. CivAlign's outputs reflect user-defined frameworks, not CivAlign editorial positions.
CivAlign does not characterize any legislative action as positive or negative in absolute terms. Interpretation of alignment scores is entirely the user's responsibility.
Data Sources
CivAlign uses publicly available governmental and legislative data sources. As the Platform develops, a detailed data source index will be made available. Current sources under development include official congressional records, Federal Election Commission public disclosures, and other published government data.
Funding Sources
CivAlign is currently funded through direct voluntary contributions from the public. Contributions support early-stage infrastructure and development costs, including tooling, hosting, data ingestion, and model refinement. No institutional investors, PACs, political organizations, or government entities fund CivAlign at this time.
